Right
now I'm sure some of you are going Garb? what does she mean by Garb? Well
Garb is the SCA (have we picked up on the trend going here with the SCA
yet?) term for Period clothing. We're asking our Guests to come in Garb
only if they want to, however it's not going to be required. The wedding
party will be all in garb or quasi garb however so the more guests that
come in garb will just make it all the more fun.
To
help out our guests I've put together a list bellow with some links to
page where you can buy period style outfits. As well as a links that show
off some of the excellent commercial patterns available for people to make
there own outfits with. Apart form these places you might try, a local
theater, Halloween shops, some bridal stores or since some styles are coming
into fashion for modern evening gowns, a dress shop. You could also find
out if you have a local SCA group who will be more then willing to help
you out. A nearby Collage, University, or High School might also be of
help, if they have a theater department, just ask.

Dawn's
Coustume guide
|
Has images of the patterns you
can get at Walmart, Hobby lobby or any fabric store that Simplicity, McCall's
and Butterick offer in there coustume sections *I personally recommend
the Simplicity outfits*. Very simple and easy to make. All patterns give
yardage and come in many sizes. There are men's outfits, including one
that looks like King Henry the 8th! |

Some more complex patterns here.
Not for beginner sewers |
Simplicity
|
Simplicity's online pages. I would
not recommend ordering from them but looking for what you want then going
to Walmart or Hobby lobby. The stores ALWAYS have there patterns at half
off the price. Most Fabric stores do the same as well. Also your selection
in store is bigger then online |
McCall's
|
Same as Above only for McCall's |
Butterick
|
Same as Above only for Butterick |
