This
Page I'll be using to show you things like, our rings, our invitation choices,
cake ideas, cake toppers and oh just all kinds of miscellaneous wedding
type stuff.
UPDATE!
We have picked our Invitations! Come see what we chose.
Both of us have an engagement ring
and both of us have a wedding band. I picked out Bob's rings and he picked
out mine.
Our Engagement Rings
Bob
picked out for me a quarter karat heart shaped diamond in a platinum setting
with a gold band. It's SO sparkly I love it. It's definitely unique you
don't see that many heart shaped diamonds out there. Until the wedding
I'm wearing it point towards me and after it I'm going to wear it point
out.
The
Ring I picked out for him is a rather heavy solid gold Irish Claddagh
ring. It has special some symbolism. In Short the hands stand for friendship,
the crown loyalty and the heart love. For a more detailed reading of the
legend of the Claddagh please go HERE
to read it. It's really quite a interesting tale.
Our Wedding Bands
For
my Wedding band Bob picked out a very pretty diamond ring wrap with four
eighth of a karat diamonds on either side of where the engagement ring
will go. However he did something really sweet and unique to it. The stones
that will touch the heart, he had switched out, to one ruby and one garnet,
his and mine's birthstones. In this way I have a very personal and special
ring.
For
his wedding band I looked really hard to find something special and unique.
And I found it in the one I settled on. Made of white, yellow and rose
gold braided together then flattened and burnished, on each side it has
solid gold bands. It rather made em think of Dragon scales. He just adores
it and kept wanting to wear it NOW, which is why I got him his engagement
ring, to give him something to wear now.
Invitations
After
getting a whole lot of Wedding Invitation catalogs and Both of us
pouring over them ( yup bob was quite vocal in the choice, gave his opinion
on them and everything) we've picked one that we think fits us best. It's
called Floral Fantasy and has two Fairies on the cover in a floral arch.
We'll have a nice script like printing in rose ink on it. it's smaller
then a normal sized card and very nice looking. I personally loved it when
I first saw it in the catalog and getting the sample just clenched it.
We'll be sending out the invitation with a map and a rain card as enclosures.
The maps because well, people need to know how to get to the ceremony,
and rain for where it will be held in case of rain. We where allowed to
put a verse on the inside left side and for that I put the last lien
of my Poem "Come dance with me", which totally thrilled Bob when I told
him.
Ring Bearer Pillow
Well,
its not really a pillow, we have this really nice wooden box that we plan
to reline and place a small pillow like thing on the inside for the ring
bearer to carry down the aisle instead of a typical pillow. We just feel
it to be more fitting to our style of wedding, and a really nice way to
present the rings. I don't have a picture of it just yet.
Cake topper
YEAH!
i finely found the perfect cake toppers! just look a Dragon holding a heart
and a fae kitty! pewter yes so we'll have to make sure to tell our baker
to reinforce the top for the toppers but they're are to great to pass up!
Flowers
We're
not really going to be needing many flowers for the wedding as its outside
but some are needed. so far we have five kinds picked out but no designs
yet. i'll be working with the Flower Basket in Walnut ridge via my mom
to get my flowers ready so far we've picked Roses pansy and columbine for
our flowers. Why such and odd collection, because we LIKE those flowers.
We might choose more or talk to the florist to see what she thinks about
our choices and what to add.

Guestbook
Our
guestbook is a simple red one with blank pages , its handmade and
we got it at an SCA event, very pretty.
Unity Candle
We've
picked out the unity candle. It's off-white with real dried pressed flowers
in it, the tapers for the sides will be just simple ones red for him rose
or lavender for me. Trying to figure out what to place them on still though,
a small table or stand.
Ceremony Program
I'm
designing that myself, got the cover done and you can see it HERE
still working on the other pages. by the time it is done it will have five
or six pages, I plan to include a full copy of my poem Come dance with
me in it tell a bit about certain aspects of the ceremony and a who's who
and what music is played where and of course an order of events |
